The History of the GLY Foundation
In 2006, the GLY Foundation hosted their first golf tournament in memory of loved ones who lost their lives due to cancer. The GLYF golf tournament went from 4 foursomes in 2006 to a projected count of 72 in 2014. This is a tribute to a foundation who is passionate to heighten awareness and raise money for the research and treatment of all cancers. The GLYF became a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization in 2011 and during the same year coordinated additional events.
Today, the GLYF has 6 events which are: participates in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, Golf Tournament, United Way Fund Drive, Bake Sale, and the end of the year Cocktail party. Please see the Events page for the specifics on these exciting events and other events that may be scheduled.
Since 2011, the GLY Foundation has raise and donated over $750,000 to entities in the local central Pennsylvania area, who are aligned with the mission to support the research and treatment of all cancers. Two of the entities who benefitted from the GLY Foundation donation include, but not limited to, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute and Pinnacle Health. With your continued support and dedication, the GLY Foundation intends to increase their donations each and every year to we eradicate this terrible disease.
